1st Runner-Up — Accenture × NBS Case Competition
Issued by: Accenture × NTU Nanyang Business School | 2024
1st Runner-Up out of 20+ teams. Proposed a sustainability roadmap projected to achieve net-zero by 2050, supported with modelling and analytics.

The Challenge
Revolutionising the last-mile delivery sector for Optimus Prime — a logistics company operating a mixed fleet of motorcycles, trucks, and vans across multiple districts — to reduce carbon emissions through a comprehensive roadmap achieving Net Zero by 2050.
Vehicle Fleet Analysis
We built a Tableau dashboard analysing Optimus Prime’s current fleet composition and CO2 emissions across districts. Key findings:
- Fleet dominated by motorcycles (65.19%), followed by vans and trucks
- CO2 emissions split: motorcycles (15.67%), vans (50.38%), trucks (34.55%)
- Fleet age distribution skewed older, presenting opportunities for EV replacement
- Domestic Parcels unit had the highest vehicle count, primarily motorcycles

Decarbonisation Roadmap

Phase 1: Optimise Current Operations
Installing fleet telematics systems to achieve 15–20% fuel savings, using the same mileage data used for analysis.
Phase 2: Transition to Electrification
Progressively phasing out end-of-life ICE vehicles and replacing them with EV counterparts as they retire.
Phase 3: Scale and Optimise
After majority of the fleet has converted to EV, investing in private charging infrastructure and optimising the economies of scale.
Phase 4: Net-Zero Goal
By 2050, Optimus Prime’s fleet is transitioned to a fully electric fleet with an efficient charging and scheduling system.
